Introduction

Kia Ora!

My name is Sarah, and I was born and raised in Tāmaki Makaurau. My parents are originally from Iraq and have been an integral part of the Iraqi Chaldean community in Papatoetoe, Auckland. Growing up in this cultural community has deeply influenced who I am, instilling in me a profound appreciation for diverse traditions and a strong sense of identity.

I’ve just completed 5 years of Medical School at the University of Auckland and am taking a year off to pursue a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours. As an avid traveller, I’ve always dreamed of exploring India. When this opportunity arose, I knew it was a chance I couldn’t miss. India’s rich history, cultural diversity, and dynamic population has always fascinated me. Participating in the local professional environment through this internship will undoubtedly offer a unique and enriching experience.

I feel incredibly privileged to travel to India with the PMSA scholarship. Follow my journey as I explore this amazing country, and stay tuned for updates and insights from my travels right here on my blog!
