Introduction
Kia ora! I’m Nic, and I’m in my second year of a Bachelor of Laws. I am originally from Kerikeri, a small town in the Far North. I am also half-Brazilian, giving me a real appreciation of cultures significantly different to our own. I envisage that Mumbai will fit squarely within this category!
India’s rich cultural history interests me deeply. This is wholeheartedly embodied in Mumbai, with its remarkable ethnic and cultural diversity. The thought of being immersed in such diversity is hugely exciting. India’s cricket culture is also a major added benefit, given my own keenness on the sport. I will be making an active effort to participate in and watch as many games as possible during my time in Mumbai!

An Expectation Exceeded
It would be dishonest to suggest that my expectations of Mumbai were entirely positive. Conversations prior to my departure had instilled me with greater caution than optimism.
