Prime Minister’s Scholarship for Latin America, iWinterMX Global Business Programme

Introduction

Hey, I’m Jess, born and raised on the North Shore, Auckland. I am in my 4th year studying a Bachelor of Global Studies majoring in International Relations and Business, and specialising in Spanish and Latin American Studies conjoint with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.

I applied for this programme because it dips into each segment of my Global Studies degree – global business, Spanish, and Latin America. I wanted to contextualise what I’ve been taught so far in these courses by learning about Mexican business authentically.

I’m most looking forward to appreciating the grand scale that Mexican multinationals operate at, which is not seen here in Aotearoa. I’d love to do ambassadorial-type work in the future, so establishing relationships with both Mexican businesses and experts, as well as other like-minded international students, will be invaluable.
