Zanoor Penny
Prime Minister’s Scholarship for Asia, Korean Language Study Abroad
Introduction
Kia Ora. I’m Zanoor, and I am studying a conjoint Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, majoring in Korean studies and Film studies.
I have been involved in the performing arts for as long as I can remember, and in the future, I want to work as a performance/creative director. I have had the opportunity to work a bit in the NZ industry already, but I hope to work overseas for a while to learn skills from a bigger industry that I can bring back. I became interested in Korea because of its creative industries, but it was after learning more about its culture and history that I decided to take Korean studies.
I applied for this scholarship because I know that if I want to work in Korea, it will be important to improve my language skills and experience the social culture in Korea. I am most excited about experiencing everyday life in Korea and hopefully making some new friends.
