Prime Minister’s Scholarship for Asia, Reimagining India Study Tour

Introduction

Kia ora tātou! I’m Taryn. I grew up in Tauranga but moved to Hamilton to study a few years ago. I did my degree in Psychology and Public Relations and then did Honours in Psychology this year. 

After four years of study, I felt now was a great time to apply for a programme like this. I enjoyed my studies and learning about various theories, but I’m really excited to experience learning first-hand in another country. 

While being immersed in another culture will be challenging, I’m looking forward to understanding different perspectives better. India is home to a large proportion of the world’s population and has so much to offer – I believe learning more about Indian culture will aid me in whatever career I find myself in in the future.
