Alex Yang
Prime Minister’s Scholarship for Asia, Korean Language Study Abroad
Introduction
Kia ora! My name is Yichen (Alex) Yang and I am studying towards a conjoint Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science (majoring in Marine Science) at UoA.
I applied for the PMSA Study Abroad Programme at Korea University because I have always been attracted by Korea’s culture and hope to be able to connect with the Korean communities in Aotearoa.
I look forward to learning all about the Korean language and culture and exploring as many places in Korea as I can during the three months. This trip will develop my cultural understanding, leadership and many other skills that will help towards my goal of becoming a foreign policy officer at MFAT or the UN.
