Kia ora!
I’m Ash, a fifth-year Law and Commerce student from Auckland, New Zealand. In Semester 1 of 2025, I’ll be swapping the summer in Aotearoa for the cold winters in Canada as I head to the University of Toronto to study Law.
While the legal systems in Canada and New Zealand are quite different, I’m looking forward to challenging myself in a new academic environment and getting a fresh take on some of the concepts I’ve been studying back home. It’s a big step outside my comfort zone, but I’m excited to learn, grow, and take on the challenge.
Beyond the lecture rooms, I’m excited to meet new people, experience Toronto’s culture, and maybe even embrace a snowy winter. I love trying new food places, so Toronto is the perfect fit with its amazing multicultural food scene. I can’t wait to explore the city’s diverse cuisines and find hidden gems.
For me, this exchange is about more than just academics. It’s a chance to meet people and experience something new. I’m so excited about this adventure and all the little moments it will bring, so join me on my journey!
