From courtroom to the streets of Mumbai
Having been to the Bombay High Court a few times, I feel confident in navigating the structure. I have become familiar with some of the endless courtrooms and technical jargon – like ‘annex building’, which stands for the additional structure holding all filing departments and record offices. As my workplace is close to the Court and to my accommodation, I’ve been taking alternative routes, to explore more of Mumbai. Here is a picture of St. Thomas’ Cathedral, the 300 year old building truly stands out from everything else in the Horniman Circle:

Sculptures & Statues
Colonial buildings and skyscrapers stand proudly in Mumbai’s skyline, but heritage sculptures and statues add a greater historical touch to the city. I found some statues and sculptures easily, while others were hidden away on different streets. Here is a picture of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s mighty statue just beyond the Gateway of India:

These detailed sculptures of two horses however, dating back many years, were not easy to find! They could have easily been overlooked or overshadowed by the beautiful Taj Mahal Palace nearby.

Preparing to return
It still hasn’t sunk in that the trip is coming to an end! I’ve just become so accustomed to daily life here, but who knows someday along my career I may return and feel Mumbai’s magic again. I am fond of the connections I have made and the close friendships I have nurtured and I look forward to staying in touch with my colleagues and peers after my trip.
And Food
Like in every blog post I will share something delicious I had in Mumbai! Here is a picture of a South Indian dish called Dosa I had at Anna Idli (probably my favourite South Indian restaurant in Mumbai). It was flavoursome, the chutneys and the filing went together perfectly! I am going to miss having this for sure:
