My name’s Jiyoon, and I’m super excited to rep Tāmaki while studying at the University of Birmingham.
I am currently a second year BA student majoring in Philosophy & Psychology. Although my studies are largely centred around career prospects, I am consistently drawn to the idea of radical, creative reimagining in academia. I am particularly interested in theology, philosophy of mental health, and postcolonial studies.
During my time abroad, I hope to explore and analyse my intersectionality positioned within the Korean diaspora. I hope to make meaningful connections, and implement my learnings in a different cultural context. Most of all, I hope to come away with, and extend inspiration.
