Lights, Camera, Internship: My Bollywood Experience So Far! 🎬 🎥

It’s hard to believe I’m already halfway through this internship! Immersing myself in Bollywood’s fast-paced environment has been nothing short of exhilarating. From the energy on set to the scale of production and the collaborative spirit, every day has been a new adventure.

I interned at Rising Sun Studios during a major ad shoot for a well-known Indian food brand featuring some of India’s most prominent celebrities. While I cannot disclose any details (just yet), I can tell you that it was a two-day shoot that stretched into the early morning hours, with over 330 people working on set. The coordination between departments was nothing short of beautiful chaos, with every team working seamlessly to bring their vision to life.

I was fortunate to be part of the direction and production team, working under the guidance of director Shoojit Sircar and producer Ronnie Lahiri. Observing their expertise and learning the nuances of film, marketing, and advertising has been an invaluable experience. I gained hands-on experience in logistics, coordinating between departments, and managing props on set. The entire process was a crash course in what it takes to bring something so massive together, and I can’t wait for the AD to be released so that everyone can see the final product.

Now, I’ve transitioned to HK Studios, helping with research and pre-production for their upcoming films. The shift from commercials to feature films has opened my eyes to the creative process in an entirely new way, and I’m amazed at how much planning and collaboration goes into each project.

Throughout these weeks, I’ve expanded my skill set in ways I never anticipated. The ability to think on my feet, collaborate with diverse teams, and adapt to fast-paced environments has made me feel more confident in my abilities. Every challenge has been an opportunity to learn and grow. I’m truly passionate about the industry, and these experiences are shaping the direction I want my career to take.

As I look ahead to the final weeks of my internship, I can’t wait to dive into even more projects and continue learning.

Bollywood has been an exciting and inspiring place to be, and the lessons I’ve learned here will guide me in my future career.
